Bridget and I are now settled in at Paoli Hospital. When we got here, Bridget was already in labor, it started last night at about 3am… my sweet wife let me sleep in until the morning. We checked into the hospital at about 8am, and Bridget is now having steady contractions, almost a few minutes apart. The baby is doing great so far with a nice heartbeat.
The baby is now at -1, so almost engaged, and Bridget is 5 cm dilated!
Well Bridget and I got some great news today…. she went into the doctor’s for her appointment, and they told her it’s time to have the baby! So she is going to call the hospital in the morning to double check they have a bed, and will be going in about 8am in order to be induced!
We’re both very excited that after these last LONG 9 months that we will finally be able to meet Bah very soon now!
The hospital has Wi-Fi access, so I am sure I’ll be posting updates throughout the day tomorrow to keep everyone posted! Wish Bridget luck for tomorrow!
Bridget and I went to the Chester County Restaurant Festival in downtown West Chester borough today. We got there early this year, and were very glad we did. Parking was very difficult to get by the time we left for the day, and it also got very crowded. This year’s selection was excellent as always, and we were lucky to get another beautiful day as well!
Then we headed straight over to Gilmore’s, since they usually sell out of food pretty early each year. I had some Corn Dog Shrimp with Honey Truffle Sauce…. this was outstanding and is easily my vote for best dish. Peter looked like he was having a great time cooking and socializing with his customers, and everyone I saw was enjoying his food.
I then got some egg rolls and General Tso’s chicken at Margaret Kuo’s. I get the egg roll each year, which is the best egg roll you can get. This year, I also tried the General Tso’s and Sweet and Sour chicken, which were also both outstanding.
Bridget also tried the Pumpkin Ravioli with Butternut Squash sauce at Carlino’s. It was very good, just a little too sweet for her taste.
And before going home, we also had to get some Goshen Fire Company Fair Donuts for desert!
All in all, yet another great year at the restaurant festival that we enjoyed!
UPDATE 10/1: I received a phone call from Krapf’s today, and was informed that they took immediate action when they found out about this situation and replaced the driver on this route. They also asked for permission to use the video for training purposes, which I said they could do.
UPDATE 9/22: This morning (Monday September 22nd), I saw a West Goshen police car sitting on Pennsylvania Avenue at about 8am looking at the intersection. Bus # 125 came through right as scheduled and did not come to a complete stop again at the stop sign. The police car then followed him, so I would have to assume that he probably was planning on talking to the driver after he dropped the children off at school, or got back to the bus depot.
Last Monday (September 8th), I saw a Krapf School Bus run a stop sign in our neighborhood when I was on my way into work. I even saw children on board. I went out at the same time the next day (to see if it was a bad day for the driver, or a pattern) and I saw the same thing!
I went out again, this time with my video camera, and filmed this on Thursday and Friday last week, and then again Monday, Tuesday and Thursday this week. Apparently nothing was done about this driver, either by the busing company or the police. I think it dangerous to have a school bus driving like this, especially when kids are on board.
Bridget and I attended Nicole and Brianna’s Baptism on Saturday. It was very nice and it was a beautiful day to celebrate with friends and family welcoming Nicole and Brianna to the Catholic Church. The girls looked beautiful and behaved like little angels with no crying, even when the water was poured over their heads.
Bridget and I wanted to thank all of our family and friends for attending her baby shower today. We were so happy to see everyone and to celebrate our new bah’s upcoming arrival. Thank you to everyone for all of the wonderful gifts!
Well Bah is almost here! Bridget had an ultrasound on Wednesday morning to check and see how big the bah is getting, and his/her position. I am happy to report that bah is very cute! Also, bah is developing just fine, at the fifty percentile, and right in the middle of the growth curve that they expect. Bah was about 4 pounds and 13 ounces, and had a heartbeat of about 143 beats per minute.
Well all of the nice people at Vanguard had a surprise baby shower for Bridget. It was very nice, they put a lot of thought and effort into it, and even got a cake with our honey bee on it!
Here’s an email she sent out thanking everyone:
Chris and I wanted to thank you all so much for the wonderful surprise shower yesterday afternoon! We were very touched that you took time out of your day to celebrate with us. Additionally, your fabulous gifts are deeply appreciated. We will get lots of use from the bibs and onesies.
Chris has already been looking through the books and started to think about the shots he’ll need to complete the “All about my day” book. We know the baby will really enjoy the teethers, car seat toys and the bathketball toy.
Finally, we will put the gift certificate to really good use with all of the remaining needed baby accessories.
Once again, thank you so much for thinking of us and sharing some of this special time with us!
Well here it is, our new nursery version 2.0. Looks a million times better then the first version that we tried. It was painted with a nice shade of light yellow back a few weekends ago. Then today my very wonderfully talented (and very cute) wifey hand painted little honey bees all over the walls to match our honey bee theme. It turned out looking very nice. They look so cool!
While she was putting on the bees, I got the shade and drapes hung, and put together a peg shelf, the rocker chair, and a little nursing foot stool. It’s not completely finished yet, but it is starting to look very nice!
