I stumbled across this site<\/a>, “My Super Proposal<\/a>“, back in October… probably from a link from one of my many daily email newsletters, like Good Morning Silicon Valley<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It was a touching story, this guy, who called himself “JP”,\u00c2\u00a0wanted to propose to his girlfriend.\u00c2\u00a0 JP thought it would be a wonderfully sweet idea to do it on national TV, using an ad aired during the Super Bowl.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n

I was touched by his story and he seemed like a nice enough guy, so I sent him some money ($5) towards his $2.5 million dollar goal.\u00c2\u00a0 Not much, but I thought he might just make it to his goal with some buzz about his site, or at least if he didn’t the money\u00c2\u00a0would be donated to the local Children’s hospital.<\/p>\n\"mysuperproposal.jpg\"<\/a>\n

Well, today I was reading Fox Sports News<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0and saw this article<\/a>!\u00c2\u00a0 It looks like he was only\u00c2\u00a0able to raise $75,000, which isn’t bad, but certainly not enough for his commercial.\u00c2\u00a0 However, an undisclosed company is paying for the commercial, so he will get to propose during the Super Bowl, and her response is going to be videotaped by a friend of theirs\u00c2\u00a0and posted online immediately to sites like YouTube<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Congratulations JP, whoever you are!\u00c2\u00a0 I guess we’ll find out during the big game.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
