{"id":256,"date":"2007-08-14T17:07:15","date_gmt":"2007-08-14T22:07:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thekellehers.com\/index.php\/2007\/08\/14\/day-out-at-the-parks-west-valley-nature-area-and-stroud-preserve\/"},"modified":"2007-08-14T17:08:13","modified_gmt":"2007-08-14T22:08:13","slug":"day-at-the-park-west-valley-and-stroud-preserve","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thekellehers.com\/index.php\/2007\/08\/14\/day-at-the-park-west-valley-and-stroud-preserve","title":{"rendered":"Day at the Park: West Valley and Stroud Preserve"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bridget and I took the dogs out for the day on Saturday.\u00c2\u00a0 We wanted to take them for a walk for some exercise, and also for a quick swim in the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Brandywine_Creek\">Brandywine creek<\/a>, since it was such a nice day out!<\/p>\n<p>First we started at the West Valley Nature Area, which is in Downingtown just off of Route 322.\u00c2\u00a0 We got tired pretty quickly because there were alot of steep hills (Halley and Ben just laid down and quit walking after a while!)&#8230; and we also couldn&#8217;t get to the creek without tresspassing on private property.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thekellehers.com\/wp-gallery2.php?g2_itemId=56313\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" src=\"http:\/\/gallery.thekellehers.com\/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&amp;g2_itemId=56314&amp;g2_serialNumber=2&amp;g2_GALLERYSID=b68e015861c1bc1b153c3154ddf35a60\" alt=\"DSC_7665\" height=\"100\" title=\"DSC_7665\" class=\"g2image_normal\" \/><\/a>\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thekellehers.com\/wp-gallery2.php?g2_itemId=56178\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" src=\"http:\/\/gallery.thekellehers.com\/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&amp;g2_itemId=56179&amp;g2_serialNumber=2&amp;g2_GALLERYSID=b68e015861c1bc1b153c3154ddf35a60\" alt=\"DSC_7611\" height=\"100\" title=\"DSC_7611\" class=\"g2image_normal\" \/><\/a>\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thekellehers.com\/wp-gallery2.php?g2_itemId=56223\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" src=\"http:\/\/gallery.thekellehers.com\/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&amp;g2_itemId=56224&amp;g2_serialNumber=2&amp;g2_GALLERYSID=b68e015861c1bc1b153c3154ddf35a60\" alt=\"DSC_7629\" height=\"100\" title=\"DSC_7629\" class=\"g2image_normal\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We then followed North Creek road off of 322, looking for a good spot to park with access to the Brandywine.\u00c2\u00a0 We found a nice little park, but unfortunately no pets\u00c2\u00a0were allowed!\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thekellehers.com\/wp-gallery2.php?g2_itemId=56322\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"100\" src=\"http:\/\/gallery.thekellehers.com\/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&amp;g2_itemId=56323&amp;g2_serialNumber=2&amp;g2_GALLERYSID=b68e015861c1bc1b153c3154ddf35a60\" alt=\"DSC_7673\" height=\"150\" title=\"DSC_7673\" class=\"g2image_normal\" \/><\/a>\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thekellehers.com\/wp-gallery2.php?g2_itemId=56328\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" src=\"http:\/\/gallery.thekellehers.com\/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&amp;g2_itemId=56329&amp;g2_serialNumber=2&amp;g2_GALLERYSID=b68e015861c1bc1b153c3154ddf35a60\" alt=\"DSC_7675\" height=\"100\" title=\"DSC_7675\" class=\"g2image_normal\" \/><\/a>\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thekellehers.com\/wp-gallery2.php?g2_itemId=56331\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" src=\"http:\/\/gallery.thekellehers.com\/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&amp;g2_itemId=56332&amp;g2_serialNumber=2&amp;g2_GALLERYSID=b68e015861c1bc1b153c3154ddf35a60\" alt=\"DSC_7676\" height=\"100\" title=\"DSC_7676\" class=\"g2image_normal\" \/><\/a>\n<p>After crossing 162, we found the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.natlands.org\/preserves\/preserve.asp?fldPreserveId=44\">Stroud Preserve<\/a>, which was wonderful since it is 574 acres of open nature preserve with walking trails, ponds, and access to the Brandywine&#8230;
