United Way Day of Caring

Bridget and I spent our Saturday helping the United Way during their Day of Caring.  The Vanguard Crew, mostly from the marketing department, worked on several projects at a women’s shelter (for abused women) in North Philadelphia.

It was hard, back breaking work, since Bridget and I worked on the landscaping crew.  We had about 70 or so people planting hundreds of trees, shrubs and plants, and moving 60 yards of mulch!  But the finished product looked wonderful, and the landscapers said that we worked faster then their paid employees do!

I just wanted to let everyone know that I got a new job working as a consultant for Iron Mountain (NYSE: IRM). It is a 1 year contract, and they will often hire contractors after they have been there for a while. It’s also much closer to home, instead of commuting over 90 minutes into NJ, now I just need to go 20-30 minutes to the north into the Collegeville area.

They are a very large company, you’ve probably seen their trucks out and about, or have seen their filing boxes. They have 17,750+ employees, and 310,000 customers and have $2.1 billion in revenue.
