Eagles

Here are a few more pictures of Siobhán from today, including some in our Eagles gear. We were cheering for them, even though the offense wasn’t playing well and they lost the game.

Well the Eagles won.  Not that they looked or played very well, but a win is a win.  And they need to give Westbrook a paycheck!

Well the Eagles looked pretty bad again.  If you missed it, count yourself lucky.  Anyway, the play-by-play went like this:  McNabb sacked… McNabb sacked… McNabb sacked… McNabb sacked… McNabb sacked… McNabb sacked… McNabb sacked… McNabb sacked… McNabb sacked… McNabb sacked… McNabb sacked… McNabb sacked… yes that’s a record 12 times.

Eagles versus Detroit

Well the Eagles were on their game today.  McNabb was working his magic up and down the field, and made the win look easy.

I think they might need to keep wearing those yellow and baby blue colored uniforms, which while they looked awlful at first, seemed to give the team something special.

Well the Eagles specials teams did a better job this week, but both the offense and defense had a really bad game against the Redskins.  McNabb was not looking too good with a number of missed passes that were way off target.

Eagles at Green Bay

by Chris Kelleher on September 10, 2007

in Eagles,Events

Well the Eagles specials teams had a really horrible game against Green Bay.  Two dropped punt returns, one at the beginning of the game which Green Bay took in for a TD, and one at the end of the game which gave Green Bay the winning field goal, costing us the game.  They made mistakes that I wouldn’t expect to see at the local HS game, let alone ones made by pro players.

The coaching staff really needs to make sure that the special teams players don’t lose any more games for us.

Philadelphia Eagles at New Orleans Saints
Divisional Playoff Game away

What a great game this turned out to be!  I think everyone expected it to be a close game since the Giants are a strong team this year, but of course that makes the tension during the game much higher for us Eagles fans.  Westbrook had a great game including that 49 yard run in for a TD, all while not feeling well!  And I’m glad that we have Akers to be a real pro under pressure and be able to score that field goal in the rain in the final seconds of the game.

Can’t wait til we play the Saints this weekend… should be a good rematch.

Bridget and I had some extra stress during the game because our cable service went out… our signal from Comcast has always been flaky and prone to problems with the picture cutting out, especially during peak prime viewing times.  We were able to bypass the HD convertor box by plugging the cable directly into the TV, which allowed us to get a slightly snowy standard picture during the second half… but needless to say we’re done with Comcast.

I ordered up Verizon’s FiOS TV service today, which I can’t wait for… there’s a backlog for installation so it won’t get here until the 31st, but it should be worth it.  The standard definition channels should come in much clearer, and we’ll get more high definition channels then we already have.  We also got the multimedia DVR box so we can record and playback live shows from any TV in the house, and will also be able to stream pictures and music from our computers to any TV… so that will be neat!  We’ll even still get all of our favorite channels, including Comcast SportsNet!

Congratulations to the NFC East Champions Philadelphia Eagles.  It was nice to see the Cowboys lose as this made today’s game against the Falcons easier to watch… Andy made the right call sitting Garcia and other key players today.  And that made the win even more impressive and nice to have.

Now we get to cheer on the Eagles against the Giants next weekend in their wild card playoff game.  Go E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles!

What a great game this was!  It’s always a wonderful Christmas when we can see the Eagles win a great game, especially against the Cowboys.  Go E-A-G-L-E-S!!
