Below are a number of initiatives to both congratulate our new President-Elect Obama, and also to let him know how important the issue of Global Warming is. I would encourage everyone to get involved and send these as well, they only take a few minutes, and the more people that act on these the more attention the issue will get.
I just sent a letter to President-Elect Barack Obama congratulating him on his historic victory and asking him to support the Pickens Plan. You can also send him a letter by visiting http://action.pickensplan.com/obama.
I just sent a message to President-elect Obama, telling him I will support him in taking bold action to combat climate change and Repower America once he takes office.
You can send your own message. Just go here:

Now’s not the time for small steps or a narrow focus. It’s time to go big. Our challenges are large and are deeply connected. As Al Gore has said, “We’re borrowing money from China to buy oil from the Persian Gulf to burn it in ways that destroy the planet. Every bit of that’s got to change.” With a bold plan, we can make that change in 10 years. In fact, only a bold plan will cut through the special interest politics in Washington and inspire the nation.
Tell President-elect Obama that you support bold action come January:

I thought you would want to hear about an exciting new campaign to help fight the climate crisis.
Here’s the deal: The United States has historically contributed the most to global warming, and over the past eight years it’s done the least to stop it. In fact, the U.S. has actively tried to block progress on a global climate deal.
Whoever takes office as U.S. President next year has a lot of work to get the US back in the game–and their very first test on climate change will come even before either Obama or McCain takes office. That test will be the next UN Climate meeting coming up in December.
IF the next president goes and makes a strong statement about the U.S. rising to the challenge of the climate crisis, it could dramatically alter the course of the negotiations. But McCain and Obama will only go if they’re invited.
That’s where we come in. It’s crucial that citizens from around the globe put pressure on Obama and McCain to ensure they attend the meeting, and play their part in getting the U.S. to be a leader on global warming.
Please visit www.350.org/invite to send your personal invitation to McCain and Obama today.
